WAKE THE SUN - Blues-Infused Rock
WAKE THE SUN - Blues-Infused Rock
Wake the Sun is a New York blues rock band from Long Island, NY. The lead singer Dillon Mealey, bass guitarist Jeff Alvarado, drummer Marco Gill and guitarist Tom Perrotta are collectively influenced by acid-washed, blues driven rockers of the 1960's and 70's and the more mainstream radio rockers of today. Wake The Sun has played two seven week American national tours coast to coast and shared the stage with acts such as Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts, The Dirty Heads, and Bad Rabbits to name a few.

"If you ever wondered what Janis Joplin would have sounded like doing country, the answer may be in [Kate Coleman]"~ monoblogue music

Kate Coleman has been a full-time musician for 8 years. From 2011-2016 her and her husband started their Bluesy-Americana duo Kate and Corey. They released 2 albums, several singles, and played all over the southeast. The duo even got to play at the notorious Ryman Auditorium as finalists in the 2012 Country Showdown with Jewel as the host.
Kate Coleman released her first solo album, "PAST", in April of 2018 with a production entitled “Tremors of my PAST” which involved modern dance, videos, and live music to bring the story of her 10 song album to life. She has since had the privilege of opening for Samantha Fish, Chuck Cannon, and Driftwood and also participated in the prestigious Wire & Wood Songwriter's Festival. Kate's voice is often compared to Natalie Maines from Dixie Chicks but stylistically is influenced by Grateful Dead, Darrell Scott, Jack White and many others.

In 2019, Kate teamed up with Highbeams along with Corey Coleman on lead guitar! The 5 have been friends for years and worked together on several tracks from the Highbeams album, "You Are My Home", as well as Kate's album, "PAST".
"I couldn't imagine playing with another band," Kate says. "Every time I pictured myself with a band, it was Highbeams and Corey... So I asked and they said yes!"
