Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute - Curtis Loew Project
Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute - Curtis Loew Project
Founded in 2013 on a love of the classic Skynyrd lineup and the songs that have been immortalized over the years, The Curtis Loew Project never fails to bring people back to a time when the “boys” from Jacksonville ruled American rock n’ roll. “We really try to stand out from the other tribute bands that we have seen over the last few years” says band leader Nathan Morgan. The band recreates classic songs like “Sweet Home Alabama”, “Working for MCA”, “That Smell”, and of course the iconic “Freebird” in their live incarnations from the classic 1973-1977 era. Drawing much of their inspiration from the classic studio albums, and the landmark live “One More From The Road” live album, the band delivers a powerful, emotional experience like no other. Along with the music, the stage set and band set up are emulated to point of nostalgia. With a three guitar attack, thundering drums and keys, and the powerful vocals of the Honkettes and Ben Smith singing the powerful words of Ronnie Van Zant, The Curtis Loew Project pays the ultimate tribute to one of the greatest rock n’ roll bands to ever grace a stage. Over the years, the band has been fortunate to have received the blessing and friendship of Artimus Pyle, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s drummer from 1975-1977 and 1987-1991. On several occasions, the band has even had the pleasure of playing with Artimus.

The band ultimately seeks to create in the minds of its fans, an experience of being at the Fox Theatre, or maybe the Knebworth Fair, or even the fabled Madison Square Garden. The last being Ronnie Van Zant’s dream that was never realized. In the words of Ronnie Van Zant, “I think everybody wants to be a Freebird”. That is what The Curtis Loew Project stands for and believes in, living in this mindset every time they step on stage.
