Kurt Lee Wheeler has become known for playing music that connects with his audiences. From soul-stirring originals to his unique take on cover songs, be sure to catch a Kurt Lee Wheeler show!!

Kurt hibernated from music from 1992-2017. Then things changed....since then Kurt has performed over 500 shows! Currently, he is churning out songs that provide a soundtrack to life’s events. The songs posted here present both new creations and a ‘retrospective' of Kurt's journey through music... from today's story telling/alt country vibe back to rocking years with hints of early alternative rock. Most of the songs are recorded in a very 'organic' way...no overdubs; only simple guitar and vocals. about his songwriting and recording, Kurt says 'I would rather folks hear the songs in process. It's more like life...unedited and sometimes messy.'

Kurt was brought up in the foothills of North Georgia where he was surrounded by the music of his mom and dad and extended family. Gospel, classic country, blue.grass, and rock were equally blended to shape Kurt's taste in music. He taught himself how to play guitar at 14 and began to play at church. Soon after he formed a rock band and played throughout high school. Afterwards he joined the Air Force and continued playing. He recorded a CD in 1992 which is on Reverb Nation along with several demos from that same era. Recently, Kurt has released several of his new songs and is out playing shows. He is the founder of the band The Lathemtown Poets Society.

What others are saying ...

Kurt’s songwriting is honest and painful and uplifting. I’ve seen him captivate the room performing for Original Series @ Rock ‘N’ Taco in Buckhead, GA. His Georgia roots are undeniably a part of Kurt’s Americana sound. You can see Kurt perform at several venues supporting local artistry. https://www.reverbnation.com/kurtwheeler

'I love the singer-songwriter storytelling style .... I always appreciate what it takes for a musician to put themselves out there like that. I will be listening to more of kurt lee wheeler for sure!' Review

'The lyrics are SO good! I love songs like this, and he has the perfect voice to deliver some great lyrics. The music is amazing as well. I would definitely listen to more from this artist. When a song can make you teary-eyed, that is the sign of a really good song.' Review
